Lakewood Ranch-Sarasota Elks Lodge #2855 has several ways you can be involved and volunteer within our lodge. Please see below for all our committees. Also, there are many other ways to volunteer at the lodge that does not involve a committee, see sign-up board near the restrooms for other ways to be involved. 

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED-Wednesday & Friday evenings to deliver orders to the tables & table clean up.

Elks Feeding Empty Little Tummies E.F.E.L.T.

In Manatee County, there are over 2,000 children between the ages of 6 and 12 years of age, who living in food deprived homes.  Our Elks program purchases food, inventories, stocks and packs meals to deliver to the elementary schools where they attend. The food we provide is for Saturday and Sunday. Typically these children would not have anything to eat over the weekend. Many of these children are in “Title One” schools, hence meals are provided at the school they attend. If interested in volunteering or donating, please contact efelteast@gmail.com.

Drug Awareness Program

Our Drug Awareness program is the largest volunteer drug awareness program in the United States. The Elks are committed to eliminating the use and abuse of illegal drugs by all members of society and believe that in order to ensure a bright future for county, it is essential that our children be raised in a drug-free environment.

Hoop Shoot Program

A free Throw Program for Youth Ages 8-13. The Hoop Shoot is free to all participants and provides our youth an opportunity to complete, connect, and succeed. The Local winners can advance to to State, Regional, and National levels!

The Ranch Hands

The Ranch Hands are our event coordinators for the Lodge and also our decorating committee! They plan activities and events. they cook, serve and are amazing!!

The Veterans Committee

 

This group meets monthly and discusses ways to help our veterans in our community. The Veterans Committee organizes events such as Paws for Patriots for the benefits of our local Southeastern Guide Dogs. 


The Veteran Committee also holds free lunches for our local Veterans. The committee is involved with several yearly outings in our community and they also bring much need items to the Veterans at Bay Pines Veterans Medical Center in St.Petersburg throughout the year. The Veterans Committee also sponsors MOTS (Manasota Operation Troop Support) There is a packing party once a month where they pack boxes of goodies to send to troops deployed overseas. Our Veterans Committee is outstanding in their continued work for our Veterans.
